For no reason...

A couple of weeks ago I had a little time to craft and no particular project to work on so this is what I came up with...

A fun little cherry card. I just love this cut from Nifty Fifties, that was my inspiration for this one. On the cherries and leaves I heat embossed the layers twice to make them nice and shiny (hard to tell in this pic.) I used my cute little pink Dymo Caption maker for the words, isn't it perfect? I left the inside blank so I can decide what to use the card for later.

This card was inspired by this cute lady on her Vespa from the Sweethearts cart. I've always wanted to make her. Of course I had to add my paper flowers and some bling. The card background was embossed with one of the new Cuttlebug All In One sets, I used a border from the Thank You set.
I left the inside of this one blank as well.

It's nice to know that I have a few blank cards on hand now for when things pop up.

Have a very blessed day!

Banana Split Cat

After Halloween this year I went to Target for the sole purpose of finding my kitty a fun "outfit." Yes, once again, I know I'm crazy! He has a cute little Santa suit, but he is much too large for it now. Perry likes this one much better because there is no hat involved. He actually tolerates this costume pretty well for a crazy kitty like himself. I finally just got around to scrapping these pictures, I thought they were so funny so I just had to share...
The title was cut using Nifty Fifties, welding on Chloe. Banana split was created using the banana from Create A Critter, ice cream was from Indy Art (ice cream cone.) Hot fudge sauce was the drippy topping on the Christmas Pudding from Winter Frolic, and the cherry was from Create A Critter.  I embossed the words with the Tiny Mosaic folder, banana was Wood grain folder, ice cream scoops were Polka Dots folder, hot fudge was Divine Swirls and finally the cherry was embossed with Swiss Dots folder. Of course then I stickled the hot fudge sauce and the cherry.
This was the first thing I made with my Nifty Fifties cartridge when it arrived last month.  I embossed the words with the Polka Dots folder once again. I know these pages are pretty simple, but I didn't want to distract from the silly Perry pictures, he does think he's pretty cool AND the top banana around here. As you can see he has a love for laying on storage totes. I just started labeling all my Christmas tote boxes with vinyl, it's so much fun!

Hope you have a day filled with laughter!

My First Fall Card-EVER!

My mom asked me to make her friend a birthday card. Of course I said "yes!" enthusastically. Now for the challenge, make it with a pumpkin and fall colors. I haven't done many fall layouts, never mind a fall themed card. I was thinking this would be a huge challenge, but over the course of a few hours it all just came together, don't you just love it when that happens?!

(notice the kitty peeking over the table? He thought I was taking pictures of HIM!)

Card base and layer was cut using Sentimentals. Pumpkin and leaves were cut with Every Day Paper Dolls. Envelope was cut with Cindy Loo. All were sized with Design Studio. I cuddlebuged the card layer, pumpkin and leaves, then brushed them with my Perfect Pearls Metalic powders. I'm really happy with how the card turned out and my mom was thrilled, so mission accomplished! Now it's off to figure out how to make a Halo (X-Box) themed card for my son's birthday.....hmmm.....

Hope you are having a great week!

Cards for Soldiers

Last week I joined a Cards for Soldiers group on the Cricut message board. I am so excited because I have wanted to do something like this for a while now. I signed up to make 20 cards this time (June 13th -July 5th.) I've now completed 18 of the 20. Here are a few of them....

Scalloped oval is from Storybook and sentiments are from Lyrical Letters.
Embossing is Cuttlebug Swiss Dots

Dog is from Robotz and so is the font
Embossing is Cuttlebug Spots and Dots and sanded paper was Core'dinations

Sentiment is from Lyrical Letters and Cherry is from Paisley
Border punch is Martha Stewart

I did most of the cards in multiples of 2's, I have many more that I haven't taken pics of yet. I think I finish up this batch with some cute kid birthday cards.

Have a great day!
