Happy Valentine's Day

I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with special people you love!
Thank you Karen at the Graphics Fairy for this adorable print!

Here are the Valentine's I made for my family...
This was for my mom, the inside says "Love You Sew Much" The scalloped heart is from Gypsy Wanderings, the sewing machine is from Nifty Fifties and the sentiment on the inside was made using the Gypsy Font.  I embossed the sewing machine just to make it stand out a bit more and the thread spool is glittered with Martha Stewart glitter. Of course there is lots of purple bling on the front too.  Any guess what mom's favorite color is???

s
This was the card I made for my daughter who loves high heels. The ornate frame is from Sentimentals, shoe is from Gypsy Wanderings and again I used the Gypsy Font to weld the word fabulous and the I Love You sentiment on the inside of this card.
The border on this mat was made using my Martha Stewart around the page punch (first time I've ever gotten it to work out!!!!)

This is the one I made my son. I knew he wouldn't want anything cutsie so I came up with this. Bomb is from Indy Art, I think the jagged border is from Gypsy Wanderings and I welded the sentiment with the font from Robotz.

Happy Almost 2011!

Last week just before Christmas I was able to do this layout. It's been bugging me that I'm behind a couple months in our scrapbook (I know, I know, stop groaning everyone!) I can't stand being behind. I've never done separate books for my kids, so it's just one main book I do (they can all fight over the pages later if they want them!) Anyhow I had these very un interesting pics of my son when we started school back up this past August and I had been dreading trying to do a layout. Well then it came to me! Make a huge robot and focus on the fact that Michael loves science and robots....ta-da! It came together quite easily. Never mind the pictures show him working on his history time line...we'll ignore that fact.
So I cut the robot out at like 11 inches, that sure makes piecing them together so much easier! This robot reminds me of my dear son "I didn't do that!" I embossed his head, chest, and shoes with the tiny mosaic folder. I also cut a base layer of the robot out of chipboard to give him a little more dimension. I cut the words out of chipboard as well using the Don Juan font. I inked the living daylights out of the letters with Vintage Photo, Fried Brick and black  ink pads. The blue background behind the letters was a grayish paper that I lightly inked with a Stormy Sky ink pad. The trouble word bubble was cut with Indy Art, this was white paper I inked with the Vintage Photo and Antique Linen, I also cut this out of chipboard as well. I am actually very happy with this layout now and can move onto the next challenge....

This week I seem to be sewing doll dresses again, so I will try and post some pictures of them soon.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a terrific New Year too!

One Cool Guy

I followed directions from Capadia's blog for the easel card and tweaked it to fit what I wanted to do. I didn't worry about making this card a standard size because I didn't need to mail it. The penguin and background for the 50 are from Create A Critter. The 50 and "one cool guy" were made in Design Studio with the font from Robotz. I actually reverse cut the words and put a lighter piece of card stock behind them.

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Cards for Soldiers

Last week I joined a Cards for Soldiers group on the Cricut message board. I am so excited because I have wanted to do something like this for a while now. I signed up to make 20 cards this time (June 13th -July 5th.) I've now completed 18 of the 20. Here are a few of them....

Scalloped oval is from Storybook and sentiments are from Lyrical Letters.
Embossing is Cuttlebug Swiss Dots

Dog is from Robotz and so is the font
Embossing is Cuttlebug Spots and Dots and sanded paper was Core'dinations

Sentiment is from Lyrical Letters and Cherry is from Paisley
Border punch is Martha Stewart

I did most of the cards in multiples of 2's, I have many more that I haven't taken pics of yet. I think I finish up this batch with some cute kid birthday cards.

Have a great day!

Pink Stamper Challenge #7

Here's another submission from the Pink Stamper Challenge. This one was to make something about or for the guys out there. These are actually pages that go with my previous post, but I think they really express my two guys. My son was so excited to get his first robot and build it with his dad, it's been great for both of them!

Pink Stamper Challenge #9

Here is my submission for Pink Stamper's Challenge #9, to make something shaped. I don't have a Gypsy or Design Studio, so this is the closest I can get to a shaped page right now. Circles and dots were the background theme on this page, even embossed all the words with the circles and dots. This is one page of 4 that go together, it's been a robot kind of day here!

Thanks for looking!

The Robotz Have Invaded!

So this first one is done with vinyl in Michael's room, he picked the colors and the robot. These were just colors I had on hand and didn't realize the brown matched his wall camo. I've been wanting to get a roll of brushed silver vinyl, now I think I have a real "excuse!"

This is a little one my daughter agreed to let me put on her laptop... I think it's soooo cute!

This guy is my first ever 3-D Cricut project. I would've cut the pieces out differently if I had realized how they all go together, but overall, we're pretty happy with it. Michael picked this one out too and helped me put it together.

My two guys (hubby and son) are getting into building robots and that's why I just had to have this cartridge, it came out just at the perfect time!

Have a great day!
