Congratulations Katie!

Here's the graduation card I made for Susan's wonderful, smart, and talented daughter, Katie. She graduated from high school this past Sunday, with like a million honors to boot! I don't think Susan could be any prouder!
All layers on this card (except the black of course) were cut with my lovley pearlescent Hobby Lobby paper then dyed by me. No regular paper would do for Katie-Miss Artist! Card base is from Elegant Edges and the letter K is brought to you by Winter Woodland. (Yes, I'm being feisty right now, it's been a looooong week!)

Here is a set of note cards I made dear Katie as well. My dear sweet daughter who is friends with Katie approved of all design and color choices. It was nice to have her input because she doesn't craft with me very often. The little tag is a punch I picked up a couple weeks ago at JoAnn's. It's by E K Success and it's slim profile which makes it easy to store. I love the thing! This time the letter K is brought to you by some fancy clear alphabet set Susan and I picked up a few years ago at a scrapping convention. The background stamp (on the tan paper) was a foam backed re-positional stamp from Hobby Lobby. I'm trying to expand my horizons here and try "new" things......

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

My First Chipboard Book..........and My First Post!

Okay, this is my first official post! Connie has graciously posted several pictures for me but I figured it was time to actually post something myself.
We had a wonderful time cropping together this past weekend! Connie got me started on my first chipboard book and I have to say, I am hooked!! I had SO much fun putting together this book for my sister. She is moving out of the country next month and I wanted to make something special for her so that she will take a part of me with her when she goes. I laid out the shape pages on Design Studio, and most of my cuts are from the Heritage cartridge and Winter Woodland cartridge. I would love to hear your comments on this project, however, remember this is my first one! Be gentle! :)

In all the pockets throughout the book are tags with different quotes about sisters. Some sweet, some funny, all fitting!

I love the way the tree turned out on this page! The cut is from Heritage. I glittered the branches with my Jelly Roll glitter pen and added tiny pearls to some of the branches. So pretty!

I also really like how the cameo turned out. It and the antique car are both also from the Heritage cartridge. The folder with the cameo on it opens.......

This is the inside of it. A picture and another quote.

I forgot to mention that all the paper I used is from K&Company.

All the word cuts are also from Heritage. I love this LOVE one with the curlicues on the ends!

This is the last page. Another picture folder that opens.........

And here it is open! Another picture and quote.

So that is it! My first chipboard album! Thank you, Connie, for all the wonderful ideas and for the flower cuts! I used almost all of them!

Happy Scrapping!
Susan

Yes, I Know I'm Crazy....

I'm a little ashamed to post this layout, not everyone understands my (and now my kids') obsession with our kitties. Now that my kids are older and pretty much self sufficient, the kitties are my "babies." I know that even though I'm still young, I am already regarded as the Crazy Cat Lady, and I'm fine with that. My kitty, Periwinkle, helped me scrap this page...he was laying on this at one point and scattered my letters all about like the "helpful" kitty he is. (Yes, I know Periwinkle is NOT a boy's name, it's a long story!)

Now on to the actual layout details....I just received the Cindy Loo cart in the mail this week and I could not wait to cut out the adorable frames and of course the kitty too! So far it has been everything I was hoping for, I was already in love with Storybook, so how can I not love this one? Words are from Lyrical Letters and the little tag is from Winter Woodland. If you want more details (page #'s and what -not) click the link here to visit our project gallery. (Or you can just click on our lovely little Project Gallery button.)

Remember we're having a give-away here once we reach 50 followers,everyone bring a friend!

Hope you all have a great day!

Beautiful Wedding Card

I just wanted to do a quick post here and show everyone out there this amazing card Susan made today. I think it is so beautiful and elegant.

Here's the inside...I love how Susan made the bottom section show on both the front and the inside of the card. She used the Winter Woodland cart for this project. If you want specifics on the cuts, please check out our gallery here

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Pink Stamper Challenge #12

Here's my last and final submission to the Pink Stamper's challenges for NSD. This one was to make something with a critter on it. Well I had fully intended to make something with a cat on it (because if you know me at all you know I'm obsessed with cats - especially mine.) Well the cat cuts I have right now were just not "calling" to me, so I decided to go a whole different direction. I love the little squirrel in Winter Woodland and I figured this would make a cute layout using the pictures of my daughter, her boyfriend, and her beloved old typewriter. She'll probably kill me for posting these pictures, but I am a mom, so what can I say!
